Frank Patrick — a Master-level Certified Foreclosure Agent instructor — is a nine-year veteran of the Real Estate Owned (REO) industry, beginning his successful career back in 2000 after a 12-year stint in corporate America as a sales manager.
As a new real estate agent Frank knew that he had to find a niche within the real estate industry to make his mark. After months of research Frank decided to specialize in REOs. And he hit the ground running, becoming one of the top agents in the nation is short order, averaging more than 100 transactions per year for the last eight years. In 2004, Frank and his brother Scott started a property preservation business to provide repair and maintenance services for banks with foreclosed homes. They started with a $1,200 van and a borrowed trailer. This "side business" quickly exploded into an annual $1 million company, operating in Kansas, Missouri and Arizona. It will soon be franchised in all 50 states. When the housing market began to decline three years later, Frank and his team still managed to close more than 200 transactions. It was at this time Frank launched REO Renegades — an REO Agent training company, as well as an industry trade association — The American Society of REO Specialists. Today, Frank manages his Exit Realty franchise in Blue Springs, Mo., and the REO association, as well as coaches an elite group of REO agents all across the nation, helping them to break into the REO business and thrive during these uncertain economic times.
